I’m Jerry! I question everything. I want to understand everything (🆘). I’m a writer. I love my dog, your dog, all of the dogs.
We are all united by the urge to connect, and to love, despite our differing entanglements. In this newsletter I write essays and interviews that are sometimes cynical, yet innately optimistic. There will be an occasional love letter, frequent self reflection, explorations of societal issues of inclusivity, and most definitely endless questioning.
I experienced a brain injury as a teenager and hid the extent of the symptoms for a long time. I used to feel suffocated by the things I couldn’t, (or wouldn’t), say. I learnt the hard way that suppression helps no one. That it shrinks all that you know until nothing remains. That we all have so much to gain through openness. That we’re all a little bit unhinged. That there is no “normal”.
I started sharing what I’d written when I realised how lost I would’ve been if I hadn’t read the words of others. I’m here to get discussion and storytelling onto a page in a way that meaningfully connects people and encourages the art of *healthy* disclosure. Join me!
While there will always be frequent posts for everyone, some will remain only for paid subscribers.
I hope what I share resonates with you. Let’s play xoxo
Every other Wednesday: Does This Window open?
Does This Window Open? is a section of the newsletter featuring creative minds, answering meaningful questions. They may surprise you, impress you, maybe even provoke you. Mostly, I hope that they are a helpful reminder that despite our uniqueness, we are never too far apart from one another in our impulses and inherent contradictions.
It isn’t always easy to open the window. It’s often the divide between reality and fantasy. A gateway between openness and seclusion. A window can be a way to look at something specific in great detail, yet it can also be a tool to look at something never seen before. The questions we ask to understand, and to be understood.
