Intimacy is:
..."look at the moon"
“I‘ve never doubted you”. “I get it”. Distance no longer negating the closeness. Knowing when to ask the questions. Knowing when to say nothing at all. Touching toes. Waking up early for that important delivery so that they can continue to sleep. “I hear you”. “I’ve never doubted you”. “There’s no rush”. Throwing a heart shaped crisp into their empty cup in the hospital waiting room. A phone call that never feels too long. Knowing that the silence doesn’t have to be filled. Finding connection and comfort in that silence. “I’ve never doubted you”. The beach before, and just after, a storm. Something you find when you aren’t looking for it. Feeling safe to get things wrong. Knowing each other's lines that we hope to never cross. Cold fingertips, because having warm fingertips means going home, which means saying goodbye. “I’ve never doubted you”. Eye contact that rearranges their world. Softness. Truthfulness. Pleasure. Finding words that add colour back into what was once dark and intractable hopelessness. “Look at the moon”.

This is gorgeous, and I don't use that word lightly. Thank you for sharing it
